Breakfast

The Best Part of Waking Up

When you stay with us, your morning begins with a homemade brunch-style breakfast. Each day features a rotating hot dish, a seasonal side, fresh fruit, juice, yogurt, homemade granola, and a sweet treat, along with plenty of coffee, tea, cocoa, and Ovaltine (yes, really!) to help start your day.

Rather than serving the same breakfast every morning, we let the seasons and a little kitchen inspiration guide the menu. One day might feature cherry clafoutis and rosemary-roasted nuts; another could bring smoked salmon Benedict, a savory breakfast braid, or homemade breakfast sandwiches. It’s a more personal approach to breakfast, and one of our favorite parts of hosting.

Breakfast is served upstairs in the dining room at 8:30 a.m. Monday through Saturday and 9:00 a.m. on Sundays. If you’re our only guests or have special plans, we’re often able to adjust the timing – just let us know in advance.

For early risers, help-yourself options including fresh fruit, granola, baked goods, coffee, tea, and other beverages are available about 30 minutes before breakfast is served.

Breakfast In-Room

We’d love for you to join us upstairs in the dining room, but if you prefer a slower, more private start to your day, we’re happy to deliver a breakfast basket right to your room.

Just let us know your preference and timing in advance, and we’ll make sure your morning begins exactly the way you like it.

Perfect for early departures, quiet mornings, or simply staying in your pajamas a little longer.

PARKSIDE ACOUSTIC BREAKFAST MENU

Our breakfast menu changes with the seasons, what’s growing locally, and whatever ideas happen to be brewing in the kitchen.

Every breakfast includes:

  • Lemon-vanilla yogurt
  • Almond bear claws

Apple-Cinnamon Steel Cut Oats

With a chewy texture and nutty flavor, steel cut oats are a satisfying, healthy, delicious way to start your day. Ours are cooked in almond-coconut milk, apples, and cinnamon, and served with a wide variety of toppings.

Often served with:

  • Coddled or Scotch eggs
  • Seasonal fruit or berry salad
  • Morning Glory muffins

Breakfast Pizza

Baked and served in a cast iron mini-skillet, this fun (and filling!) guest favorite features soft-scramble eggs, cheese, and seasonal toppings on a pillowy deep-dish crust.

Flaky puff pastry wrapped around a savory breakfast filling and baked until golden.

Fresh From the Oven

There’s usually something baking in the kitchen. Depending on the season, you might find muffins, sweet rolls, biscuits, cobblers, coffee cakes, or fruit buckles on the breakfast table. Sunday’s breakfast almost always includes a seasonal buckle, made with whatever fruit is looking best that week.

Occasionally Appearing on the Menu

These show up when our chef is getting her traditional comfort food vibe on:

  • Seasonal fruit crepes
  • Sourdough or Buttermilk pancakes
  • Waffles (sometimes with fried chicken)
  • Buttermilk biscuits & sausage gravy (by request only)

For the Adventurous

Every once in a while breakfast takes an unexpected turn.

  • Fried Spaghetti & Eggs – Rick’s favorite breakfast and surprisingly delicious. (by request only)
  • Biscuits & Chocolate Gravy – Homemade buttermilk biscuits with Southern-style chocolate gravy. (by request only)
  • Woke Up & Had an Idea – No promises, but these are often the breakfasts our guests remember most.
